A lesson for the lookouts as a big ship appeared from nowhere!

All the sails and 6.5 hours to Swanage passing a race heading to Portland. Anchored in 2.8m. We used the electric motor on the dinghy for the first time. Walked to Durlston Castel and Anvil Point lighthouse. Great views on the way to the castle and interesting film about the fossils. Also a live feed of the ledge of nesting Guillemots which we walked past later. Saw the mile posts near the light house close to. We had ice creams at the castle and cake back in Swanage.

We left just before 12 the next day arriving and anchoring behind Worbarrow Tout at 15.15 in 2.3m. This was a lovely spot to stay but not accessible when the firing ranges are in use. Landing on the beach we had to wait to access Pondfield Cove for a WWII shell to be detonated. We then did a lovely walk through the range to the deserted village of Tyneham, and back round the bay. Emma called Alex to tell him we were trying to kill her with the walk which was a bit steep in places. Back to Portland in the morning, with Emma and Gerd following the contour line, before the range opened.
