Haulout 2025

Haulout time has come. The prop anode is much less worn than last year which is good.

This year we’re not in a movable cradle so the lift takes Larksong all the way into the yard and we don’t run the risk so much that they want to move us again.

One of the jobs is to service all the seacocks and we have a number of Blake’s which are completely blocked with growth. Dipping these in acid work very well. We gently polish them all with grinding paste and clean them and grease them with Blake’s grease.

A start is made in removing the deck on the stern so we can start to seal the top layer and work out what works best – plain deck paint or gelcoat.

Another leak is found. The radar cable is not properly sealed. We will repace these glands with a goose neck at some point.

There is a lot of wind every day, almost so much that we have to stop work, but also have a rainbow.
